The work of the Durham Pointers has been supported by a donation of more than £4000 by the Durham City Freemen. An element of the funding has been targeted at the younger section of our local visitors by the production of an activity leaflet, 'Children's Market Place Quiz’.

Apprentice Steven Hay is carving out a new career as a joiner at Durham’s iconic Norman Castle – thanks to a funding package from the city’s freemen. Sid was admitted to the Cordwainers Company of the Durham City Freemen in May 1992 and regularly attended Guild Days. He was extremely proud of his association with the Freemen and the City of Durham. Sid is survived by Vera whom he married in 1958 and sons Ian and Peter.
